Hello

Greetings, glad you've found my website (still under construction). I'm not a web designer and definitely not a politician, but I am concerned about our Township, and interested in helping it grow responsibly with preserving green spaces and creating infrastructure that works for area residents.

My Story

I'm a 23-year resident of Lyon Township along with my wife Valerie and twin sons Jack and Nate. I was born in Lapeer, MI and raised in Hudsonville (near Grand Rapids). I received my two B.S. degrees in Astronomy and Physics from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and did graduate work in Public Administration at Wayne State University. I enjoy travel, golf and making my own maple syrup. My twin sons are freshman at South Lyon East High School and on the school’s robotics team. My day job is as the CEO/Executive Director of the Sloan Museum and Longway Planetarium in Flint Michigan. Previous to that I was the COO of the Michigan Science Center in Detroit. I've had a 33+ year career in managing Museums. I serve on a number of both private and public boards, including serving as the Board President of the Flint Cultural Center Academy, a K-8 public charter school in Flint.

After voting in every Trustee election in the last 20+ years, I noticed that there were never any Democrats on the ballot, even though the demographics of the township have changed significantly. As the township has grown and developed, infrastructure has not kept pace, and traffic, water, zoning and other issues are becoming a significant issue. After interacting with Trustees and appointed officials at a number of meetings dealing with zoning and property use, I realized that it was time for a change and decided to run myself. I am NOT a politician, but just a resident that wants to help my community grow responsibility while preserving green spaces around the township.
